Mountain Movers Engineering has been a leader in grading and earthwork for many years. Dean Smith first started running jobs when he was just 14 years old. His first company was Rocky Mountain Constructers in Colorado where he was responsible for grading hundreds of pads for home developers throughout the Denver area.

Now, over 6 decades later, Mountain Movers still excels in every aspect of earthwork including the design and installation of retaining walls, screen walls, basins, and more. We are a complete one-stop solution for any of your projects that require grading and/or walls.

Our leadership team has a combined 100+ years of experience and our commitment to our customers has not wavered since the first day.

As the driving force behind Mountain Movers Engineering Co., Eli Njaa leads a modern,

ethically driven construction company in Southern California, placing a strong emphasis on customer relationships and partnerships. Born and nurtured in Alaska’s rigorous terrains, Eli imbibed values of hard work, integrity, and creative problem-solving from an early age. His youthful days were steeped in commercial fishing and crafting custom homes alongside his father. At 18, a move to San Diego, initiated with just a shovel and sheer determination, marked the beginning of a remarkable ascent. Eli climbed the ranks from laborer to operator, from foreman to superintendent, and from project manager to operations manager. Today, as President, his journey embodies a fusion of Alaskan resilience with San Diego innovation, epitomizing his unique vision of Mountain Movers.

Jay works with the Leadership Team by directing the development and execution of the business

development vision, strategy, plans, and processes that will drive sales, increase revenue, expand markets, and accomplish the vision of our company. With over 25 years of experience in building organizations and developing winning strategies, Jay partners with and evaluates established and new markets, partners, channels, and customers. He is responsible for our sales and marketing efforts, develops systems, and ensures that we exceed our customers expectations.

With over 46 years in the construction industry, Michael Parizo is an Earthwork Specialist.

His emphasis on safety measures combined with team building make him and invaluable asset to our company. He is a great communicator with our customers before, during, and after each project. His experience over career lends to creative approaches that solve problems quickly and efficiently. He has worked on projects ranging from Mass Grading, Demolition, Storm Drain and Blasting to Mining and Mining Development, Mass Import and Exports, Basement Excavations, Dredging, Design/Build, Bridges, Freeways, Public Works, Landfills , Site Developments, Tilt Ups and much more.
