Mountain Movers partnered with Lennar Homes on a 40 acre site. 60,000 cubic yards of rock were blasted and either hauled off the site or buried onsite. Over 200,000 cubic yards of rock and dirt was touched by a non stop team of scrapers in the Cut/Fill operation. 100 finished housing pads were completed on schedule along with a 1400’ pedestrian nature walk that made it’s way through protected environmental areas.
Mountain Movers internally designed and then built over 32,000 square feet of MSE Plantable, Near Vertical, and Tiered walls throughout the 8 acre project. No Fines Concrete was used where Geo Synthetic Reinforcement grids conflicted with property lines. “No Fines Concrete” is a type of concrete mixture that contains little to no fine aggregate (sand). This can provide good drainage properties.
Earthwork consisted of having to blast and remove/bury over 50,000 cubic yards of rock and exporting 20,000 cubic yards of dirt were exported to finish grade 25 building pads. This project was complex and involved significant earthmoving and coordination with the wall team address any conflicts. The project was an overarching success for both Beazer Homes and Mountain Movers.
Mountain Movers provided earthwork for Greystar on their 7 acre Senior Living Housing project in San Clemente. Apart from complete grading, building and parking lot demo, It involved an 11,000 cubic yard excavation over a county water culvert and replacing it with equal quantity of strategically placed and cut GeoFoam to support the parking lot above and part of the putting green of adjacent golf course. Mountain Movers also provided a 1000’ long 25’ wide tiered bench to complete shoring and hill retention of the nearby 5 freeway.
TFW asked us to take a look at this project and see what we could come up with. In-house, Mountain Movers designed all the courtyard walls, including ramps, walkways, bocce ball courts, barbeque areas, bike parking, personal meeting pods, etc.… We utilized different block systems and brought the whole thing together in a unified, beautiful aesthetic. Our highly experienced field crews made it all a reality.
This project in Escondido required screen walls to separate it from the neighboring community and add privacy, sound deadening, and security.
Traditionally projects of this type utilize tilt-up screen wall systems that require a lot of time and room to pour and stand onsite.
We introduced the client to this heavyweight screen wall solution, and the final product came out beautifully. They provide both cost savings over traditional methods and a much quicker installation that is aesthetically superior to the alternatives.
These precast walls are perfect for new commercial projects, Industrial security, and housing developments. The heavyweight precast walls are designed to endure the harshest conditions and the broadest range of climates.
Here is a project in Vista, CA, where there was limited area on the cut side due to property lines, and plantable walls were required by the city. We designed a solution using Keystone MSE block in a modern stone facing, GSR (geosynthetic reinforcement), and No Fines Concrete fill. The design creativity combined with the field expertise and leadership maximized usable space and enabled the owner to fit more units. The project came in on time and under budget.
Here’s a 25,000 square foot Retaining Wall system Mountain Movers Companies designed and built for City Ventures in Alhambra.
An existing building was demolished, crushed, and mixed with native soils to create a usable backfill material. This eliminated the need for expensive export and import. The city required the wall system to be plantable, and the customer chose a beautiful tan color. An intense schedule required unique planning and teamwork between trades. These types of challenges are where Mountain Movers thrives. Ultimately the project beat the schedule and came in under budget.
